Finding cheap Disney vacation packages is almost an oxymoron.

If you’ve ever been there you know it’s anything other than cheap.

There are some ways that you can save some money though.

Just remember if you want to save money, you’re going to have to do some of the leg work to find the discounts.

 
The following is a list of 5 tips to finding cheap Disney vacation packages.

1. Skip the Disney Resorts
   The Disney resorts are great but they are very pricey.  Look into a nearby hotel that offers great amenities at a much cheaper price.  Remember they’re competing with the Disney Resorts so you can often times find some good deals.
2. Don’t Rent a Car
   If you really want to save some money bypass the rental car.  It may seem cheap online when you order it but at the end you’ll see all of the added taxes and surcharges that go along with it.  A weeks worth of car rental could cost you several hundred dollars.
3. Take Advantage of Travel Sites
   Sites like Travelocity, Expedia, and Priceline offer great discounts on airfare, hotels and car rentals.  Make sure to price them out.  For example I recently booked a Disney cruise through Travelocity and saved $800 compared to Disney’s site.

4. Pre-Order Amusement Park Tickets
   There are a few sites out there that offer discount amusement park tickets.  My personal favorite is Undercover Tourist.  They offer discounted admissions tickets to several different theme parks.
5. Sign up for Timeshare Promos
   Another way to get cheap Disney vacation packages is by signing up with timeshare companies that offer free weekends to stay at their hotels.  The catch is you have to listen to a 2 hour sales pitch.  I’ve got mine coming up this October for Disney World.  The one I did is through Hilton and I get 2 nights free at some resort in Orlando.  Just don’t get swayed into buying one.
